Pucking Around.... It was something for sure

Okay so if you are on TikTok or Booktok, I'm positive you've heard of the book Pucking Around by Emily Rath. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE a smutty book and this one definitely didn't skimp on the smut but it honestly got to the point where I felt like I was just reading a porno than anything with a storyline. This didn't hit me until probably 60% through where I kept finding myself saying "Okay, we get it." and then the ending felt rushed. I ended up rating the book 4/5 stars not because I didn't enjoy it but strictly for the forementioned detail. I did find myself also wondering what type of birth control this woman was on because DEAR GOD she was always being filled up like a damn hostess cupcake. I got my answer towards the end of the book that she was using an IUD. Lets just say that thing was working harder than she was at her job.

Speaking of job, let's give some details on what this book is about. In the book we meet Rachel who gets an internship to work with the Jacksonville Rays which is a NHL team. She is still holding onto a one night stand that she had with a man she never got the name of. When she gets to Jacksonville, she is picked up by the team's sports manager Caleb who she is instantly attracted to but nothing happens. Well a couple days later she runs into Jake at the facility. He is one the team players who happens to be the man from her one night stand. They instantly reconnect and start sneaking around. Well little does she know, he and Caleb are best friends. Not only that, but Caleb is bisexual and has always had a thing for Jake. One night at a team outing, Rachel, Jake and Caleb sneak off at a club and get it on in the storage closet. This night starts off their poly relationship (at this point it's only both men sleeping with her). A while later, Rachel ends up getting close with the goalie Mars. He is injured but doesn't want anyone to know so it won't risk his chances with scouts for the Olympics. So Rachel starts to help him in secret which is obviously going to start with them getting frisky. So now we have Rachel sleeping with all 3 of these men (who of course are described as tall, full of muscles and PACKING). *****

Well moving on a little later in the book. Caleb and Jake realize they have feelings for eachother and they end up sleeping together too. So now we have Caleb and Jake doing the deed while also doing Rachel who is also sleeping with Mars. (In other terms like I've seen on booktok, it is now MMFM which stands for male/male/female/male).

Long story short, because yes this book is LONG like around 700 pages, Mars ends up marrying Rachel and Jake and Caleb marry eachother but they all live as one big family.

All in all, I would recommend this book if you're looking for a long read that is HEAVY on the smut with some plot sprinkled in. If you are not a fan of dirty talk or poly relationships or LGBTQ+ storylines, then this book is not for you.
